Product Description

BuyPower (YC W17) is a utility payment company that helps its users pay for electricity units from the comfort of their homes. Prior to BuyPower, the Process of paying for electricity was very manual, and it involved people physically queuing at their service providers office.

The goal of this redesign was to create a unique solution focusing on the following things:

Asset Management system

We wanted to create an asset management system whereby users can see their Electricity meters and perform tasks such as: Schedule Purchase on the meter, Viewing the history of the meter, etc

Other Utility Payment

Even though we were focused on Electricity, we wanted users to be able to pay for other utility services such as: Airtime Recharge, Data Recharge, TV Subscription, etc

Meter Verification

In Nigeria, we use Physical utility bills to do a lot of official documentation, and getting the utility bills can be somewhat hard, so we brainstormed a feature whereby users verify their address using their meter and they can use that address to print out utility bills that can be used for official purposes.
